Well, the change from Windows XP to Windows 8.1 is coming along. It took some time!
The scanner still doesn’t work properly, but other programs seem to be fairly good.
There was a BIG problem, however, with data usage online. Once the new computer was set up, we were using on average three times the amount of data even when we were almost never online. This was easily going to top our data limit and start costing more money – never a nice plan.
Problem solved!
I finally found that turning off the Customer Experience Improvement Program helped enormously.
Here’s how:
On the right side “charms” click on the search at the top.
Type in “change customer experience”
Click on that and then click in the box that says “No. I do not want to participate..…”
It must have been sending packets constantly.
This discovery was not made by multiple contacts with the computer company, Windows, or our provider! Seems strange that nobody in the computer industry could tell me what to do yet again!
